Started writing graffiti in '84 with the original Crime Incorporated, co-starring Jinx, Inkie, and Wizardo (aka Nick Walker). Early tags included Bad Max 43, Maxwell, Ducky Boy (have you seen the Wanderers? If so you'll know why) Shuffle, MC Fee, and others before settling on FLX 1 around '87/88, after hearing of KRS 1 and biting his derivation process. Studied Visual Communication 1990-93 and set up graffiti t-shirt company for final project. Company flops. Make music for 5/6 years before getting back into writing in 97/98. Been painting again ever since, and teaching young people to do the same since 2002. Mainstream art education seems to pass a lot of kids by, and – as a friend once pointed out – we are all artists to start with, it's just that we forget how. I try to remind young people how important their imaginations are. It's the one thing that's ours that can't be controlled or monitored, and for that reason alone it's our most precious asset.
